Your Local Property Improvement Partner
D2 Property Improvement was founded in 2025 in Midland, Michigan, by Dusten Dittenbir to serve the Central Michigan area. D2 Property Improvement is a licensed Michigan residential building company specializing in property maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
Dusten grew up in Pinconning, Michigan, and always enjoyed working with his hands. During high school and early college, he took classes in the trades—from basic woodshop in high school to CNC machining and CAD/CAM classes in college. In 2015, he received his associate’s degree from Delta and transferred to Central Michigan University. Building on his technical interests, he decided to go into engineering, and in 2019 he received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. After college, he worked in the automotive and plastics industries.
While the jobs were great, he missed being more hands-on in the projects he was involved in and started brainstorming ideas for side businesses. This led to him obtaining his Michigan Residential Builders license. At the same time, he received a job offer to become a facilities engineer. The ability to work on infrastructure improvement projects, maintenance, and improving building system efficiency was a perfect fit, and he still works as a facilities engineer.
The drive to start his own business hadn’t gone away, though. So in April 2025, D2 Property Improvement was established and started taking on jobs in July 2025 in the Midland area. This provided an outlet for him to use his skills doing quality work in the community. The most unexpected benefit and sense of purpose, however, came from being able to help people in the community and make their lives a bit easier.
In his free time, Dusten enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter (due in February of 2026), parents, in-laws, and friends. He also enjoys tinkering with things in the garage and doing home improvement projects (except painting—he just tolerates that). He loves being outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing, ice fishing, camping, and golfing (or attempting to golf). He also enjoys volunteering in the community.
